The school provides its students numerous opportunities for co-curricular activities to enrich their cultural interests. The school encourages the students to take part in a wide variety of cultural competitions such as singing, dancing, debates, creative writing etc. and holds various cultural activities throughout the year.

Christmas Celebrations

A special assembly was conducted by Modern public School, Shalimar Bagh on the occasion of Christmas.

To set the mood for the Christmas the choir belted out a number of Carols. A small skit was depicted by the students of classes III to V. The play depicted that the true spirit of Christmas lies in being benevolent and generous.

The Christmas carols and jolly Santa with jingling bells and dancing children in tow seemed to bathe the whole school with festive spirit- a perfect way to close for December holidays.

Basant Panchami

Modern Public School, Shalimar Bagh celebrated the auspicious festival of Basant Panchami to honour Goddess Saraswati. All the students and teachers were dressed in yellow. The programme commenced with a hearty floral tribute to Goddess Saraswati by the Principal, Mrs. Alka Kapur. The cultural items included Saraswati Vandana, a speech on Basant Panchami and a bandish in Raag Basant. The programme was applauded by one and all. The function concluded with Principal’s address wherein she enlightened the students about the importance of Basant Panchami and appreciated there performance.

Children’s Day

Childhood is the spring of life and each day in the life of children is a special day when they discover life’s little secrets and embellish their store of knowledge. But one day in a year is specially embarked for them and Modern Public School, Shalimar Bagh ensures that the children gain the most on Children’s Day. So, the school organized a special assembly on Children’s Day. The day was full of fun and festivities. A spectacular show was put up by the Shyam Arts Troupe ‘ Manipuri Troupe’ wherein they performed Dhol Chalo stick balance, Blind Cutting and Lion Dance. The show held the children spell bound. It was a feast to the eyes. A drawing Competition was organized for the students of classes I to VIII by Shri Sai Sevak Mandal. The winners were awarded certificates and prizes. It was indeed a memorable day.
