Modern Public School was established in 1971 by Modern Public School Education Society (Regd.) with the avowed object of serving the cause of education in the NCT of Delhi, particularly in Shalimar Bagh and neighbouring areas. It had a modest beginning in a residential building in Ashok Vihar and it is heartening to note that, the school has a successful track record in imparting education since 1971.

The school is a composite co-educational English Medium Senior Secondary School running on public lines permanently recognised by Directorate of Education, Delhi under its All India Scheme. It is imparting education upto Class XII in all the three streams- Sciences (Medical and Non-Medical), Commerce and Humanities.
